Established in 1974, National Volunteer Week focuses national attention on the impact and power of volunteerism and service as an integral aspect of our civic leadership. 

 

For fifty years, HandsOn River Region has honored outstanding volunteers who generously give their time, talent, and energy to make our community a better place to live.

Adult- 

 

Individuals eligible for this award may be involved in various community activities or have a concentration of service with a particular cause. The collective effect of their work impacts agencies and the community at large. Consideration is given to the nominee’s longevity, focus, or variety of work and overall impact.

Best of Board-

 

Individuals eligible for this award have the heart and passion for the mission they serve as a board member. Those recognized understand the true meaning of Board service as volunteer service and go above and beyond to provide their time and talent to the organization where they help lead and serve.

Youth (College student and younger)- 

 

This award recognizes a youth who incorporates volunteerism into his/her life and inspires others.

Youth Group (College students and younger)- 

 

Groups eligible for this award may represent schools, faith-based organizations, or service clubs. Consideration is given to the group’s team approach to problem-solving and improving the community.

Nonpfit & Faith-Based Volunteer Program-

Nonprofit & Faith-Based Volunteer Program-

The award recognizes volunteer-led programs or initiatives at local nonprofit and faith-based organizations.

Corporate- 

Groups eligible for this award emphasize corporate social responsibility and cultivate a strong culture of employee volunteerism.
